Fuel Testers Company strongly supports energy independence.
E85 used only in Flex Fuel Vehicles is one type of domestically produced alternative fuel
that can help to reduce petroleum.
The U.S. currently imports about 50% of petroleum we use! Our oil dependency is unacceptable and a threat to our economy and national security...Until cellulosic ethanol is in the market, E85 gasoline use is very debatable. Rather than force all to use E10 or E15, ethanol would be more beneficial as E85, a gasoline replacement and alternative fuel.
If RFS mandates continue to force rising ethanol quotas, it must only be with E85 type fuel.
During the past decade, both out government and independent ethanol/renewable fuel organizations (E.G. ACE) have failed to fully promote E85 and flex fuel automobiles to your average American consumer. Anti-ethanol sentiments are rising partly due to 98% of ethanol being used as E10 conventional gas which has no benefits and causes many engine problems.
Fuel-Testers supports all "alternative" and "renewable fuels" that can reduce petroleum consumption and pollution.
(E10 is not a petroleum replacement, E85 is a good alternative to petroleum-based gasoline). Meeting government mandated renewable fuel quotas with mostly E10 fuel simply does not make sense...READ FULL COMMENTS.
